The key to prepping your home for photos is decluttering and depersonalizing.
A clean and clutter-free home appears more spacious and appealing. When homes are depersonalized, it helps potential buyers visualize their own belongings in the space.
The overall goal is creating a neutral pallet where a buyer can picture themselves moving in with ease.
Kitchen
Clear all countertops of appliances, food, and dishes.
Clear the outside and on top of the refrigerator.
Declutter and organize open shelving.
Living Spaces
Clear as much off of the floor as possible (pet food bowls, dog beds, toys, shoes, etc.).
Put away brooms, mops, vacuums into a closet.
Bathrooms and Laundry Rooms
Clear bathrooms (put away towels, soaps and shampoos, personal items).
Tuck away laundry baskets.
Bedrooms
Clear the tops of dressers and nightstands.
Everywhere
Tuck away portable fans, dehumidifiers, and charging cables.
Open up all of the curtains and blinds.
Turn on all lights and lamps.
Taking professional photos when your home is decluttered and depersonalized is crucial to getting top dollar for your home. If you have any questions or need further assistance please do not hesitate to reach out, I’m happy to help!
